No, standard objects are excluded from the scope and we only assess custom objects, which provides better visibility and results because we are not picking up all objects in the system.

We utilize any of your standard naming conventions to search for and identify all customizations. We can also use multiple naming conventions, if, for example, you are using different conventions for each country.

Yes, as long as you provide a list of the objects that you want to remediate, or a list of obsolete objects that should be excluded from the upgrade. We can provide a cost and time estimate for those particular objects.

Our ennABLE tool will automatically remediate approximately 70 to 80% of all Oracle EBS custom objects (database, setup, and RICEFW/CEMLI).

Some custom objects must be remediated manually, for example:

OAF customizations
Any customizations made to standard objects like Forms and Workflows

Our scoring model is based on the number of lines of code or total number of obsolete tables, APIs, change tables, and so forth. Complexity also depends on the complexity of the code and amount of time and effort required to remediate it. We also perform an additional round of testing to ensure the functionality stays the same.

Yes, the assessment will identify the last time each object was used. Typically, we will track usage up to 2-3 years back, although the timeframe can be adjusted based on your environment and requirements.

No. The assessment does not include the actual remediation of custom objects. The assessment will provide an estimated cost, time, and level of effort required to remediate and test your customizations, with or without using ennVee's services and automation tool.

Remediation & Migration

This is done in your existing R12.x environment. We make all of the changes and keep them in the R12.x environment itself, but the code pack can be moved to any R12.2.x target instance.

ennABLE will automatically remediate 70-80% of all custom objects. The following must be remediated manually:

OAF Customizations
Customizations made to standard objects (i.e. Workflows, Forms, etc.)
Java Concurrent Programs (this is due to the Java versioning changes in R12.2)

During the Assessment, we provide a detailed list to help you decide whether the custom objects you want to migrate are valid. This is an automated, interactive process that provides a check and balance along the way and gives you a checklist of things you should do. For example, there are certain objects that you won't want to evaluate because they aren't being used, you are standardizing them, etc. So, this is why there is a checklist of things you should do. Overall, our goal is to help you eliminate as much manual effort as possible and make sure everything is in compliance and tested thoroughly.

The assessment is beneficial even if you are planning a functional or transformational upgrade, or implementing new modules in R12.2. Using our automated upgrade services helps significantly reduce development time and effort, so your team can focus on more important tasks.

Yes. For example, if you have a custom built Javascript, the same can be remediated and moved to R12.2.x, and handled as part of the upgrade. If you are using Third Party software (i.e. Loftware), we would need to work with the Third Party ISV to determine the required changes.

Yes, we automatically remediate and migrate OAF Personalizations and test them in the target R12.2 environment.

The assessment and testing component works for any version of Oracle E-Business Suite from 11i to R12.x.

The automated remediation and migration component only works for those currently running R12 (12.0 to 12.1.3). Customizations in 11i or lower cannot be remediated automatically, but our tool can be used to identify and extract the custom object details and changes involved from 11i to R12.x.

Yes, our test automation tool covers technical objects and inbound/outbound connectivity. We can also provide functional testing assistance, if needed. There are three types of testing involved:

Unit Testing - We gather objects like concurrent requests, reports, or workflow processes in the initial state and automate the testing to ensure that everything we touch is migrated and validated. We can provide 100% validity.
We automate all inbound integration and build it one by one in our tool to validate in the initial instance. We also automate replication for CRP 1, 2, or 3. This is manual the first time around and then automated for the next two.
Using Oracle Applications Testing Suite (OATS) and our integrated testing mechanism. Initial testing will be done manually and then the use cases are automated into test scripts.

Yes. For example, if you are upgrading from R12.2.6 to 12.2.7, there are minor changes between the different migrations but ennABLE will still work.

No, all remediated custom objects will be migrated with our scripts.

Yes. The ennABLE tool automatically remediates and migrates custom objects from 11i or R12.x to R12.2.x.

Pricing for the Assessment is fixed-bid based on your footprint and current version of Oracle E-Business Suite. An additional week of work is required for the Assessment if your current version of Oracle E-Business Suite is 11i.

Yes, ennVee provides R12.2 upgrade consulting services. We have three primary engagement models:

"Soup to Nuts" - ennVee manages the entire upgrade process from start to finish. This model typically fares well with organizations that do not have an internal staff to complete the upgrade.
Hybrid - Project tasks are split between the client and ennVee. ennVee may provide a project manager, technical resources, or fill functional skill gaps (i.e. Supply Chain Lead, Finance Lead, etc.). This model is ideal for organizations with small to medium size teams.
Remediation-only - ennVee handles the remediation piece of the R12.2 upgrade. This model is ideal for organizations that have a large in-house staff or multiple vendors engaged, and small to midsized organizations that are managing the upgrade internally but require the flexibility to focus on other projects.
