Business Challenges

The customer was experiencing issues with their shift-based time entry systems, and there was a need to streamline the same. In addition to this, there was a strong need to automate a few of the holiday-related calculations since their existing approach led to manual interventions. The customer did not have absence-related information being assimilated in real-time with labor-based data in their system, which compromised data visibility.

Oracle Modules Implemented: Oracle Cloud Time and Labor (OTL)

ennVee Solution

Oracle Cloud Time & Labour Implementation:

A shift-based time entry system was enabled for weekly and bi-weekly employees working on an hourly basis. Also, for them, a new vacation accrual plan was created in the Oracle absence management module and the same was transferred to the employee timecard.

ennVee Solutions for Specific Requirements:

  • Overtime hours were captured and reconciled with the public holiday calendar.
  • An overtime calculation automation was enabled to consider any hour/s worked over the 40 hours per week limit.
  • Another automation delivered was related to setting up a rounding rule to calculate shift start and end time based on specified time delays.
  • Separate holiday calendars were configured for manufacturing, office, and DC.

Integration:

Standard integration with absence management was enabled to ensure accurate information on timecards, based on the reported leaves

Through integration, biometric and web-clock inputs for shift start and close times were captured. The same was applied for capturing details on lunch break hours.

Application & Reports:

The project involved building an interface with ADP for weekly and bi-weekly payroll inputs.

Multiple OTBI reports were developed for processes such as pending approvals, time capture, overtime, and absence.
