In the dynamic landscape of corporate strategies, our client, part of a vibrant group, executed a strategic move to enhance business cohesion. They acquired a company within their domain, envisioning increased sales through synergies and heightened operational efficiencies.
The Transition - The acquired company, previously run on a QAD system, underwent a tech makeover. The technology was replaced with JD Edwards, Demantra, RFgen/Loftware, Rocket EDI, and other solutions favored by our client.
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Implementation - JD Edwards, took center stage in the pursuit of a unified enterprise solution across the entire group. The journey commenced with a meticulous tech audit. The OCI's compute/storage prowess got a 25% boost to handle the increased user and transaction load. The key approach was to stick to the existing configuration in the rollout system. Customer/item master data, AP/AR/purchase orders/work orders seamlessly migrated to the JDE system. Account and inventory balances, along with open sales orders, were subsequently brought into JD Edwards.
Application Scope – Modules of financial management, manufacturing management, CRM, and supply chain – procurement were implemented. RFgen scripts and Loftware labels were retained in the system.
Warehouse Management - In a pivotal stage of consolidation, the acquired organization's warehouses smoothly transitioned to the client's designated spaces. This required setting up new EDI transactions for 3PL companies, using common EDI transaction sets.
EDI - JDE configuration was enabled for customers for EDI, and existing integrations were tweaked to harmonize with the system. The transactions in focus were purchase orders, order acknowledgments, advanced ship notices, and invoices. Some end customers gracefully shifted from the acquired company's EDI solution to our client's, while others remained with JDE and Rocket EDI solutions. A design, test, and deployment activity were performed for each of them.
